Internship Location: Madison WI
Organization Type: Nonprofit
Policy Areas: Health, Diversity, Education
At the Wisconsin Medical Society I learned what it takes to make a health policy change. I was shocked at how long it takes for everything to get going, but there is a lot of diligent work. I felt like a valuable asset in terms of cultural competency because of my class work. It was valuable to me to be a little involved in everything. I did a lot of research for this internship, so the next steps were grounded in my contribution. Now that I am done with he internship, I don’t think I am meant for a career of sitting at a desk. I prefer to see things in action, so maybe a position at the Capital would be a better fit for me.
