Wisconsin Council on Medical Education and Workforce

Internship Location: Madison WI

Organization Type: Nonprofit

Policy Areas: Healthcare/Health policy

I had the opportunity to engage in research, develop surveys, and sharpen my writing and communication skills. The skills I’ve received at La Follette were super helpful, particularly in communication and through my policy coursework. I was surprised by how much autonomy I was given and how collaborative the environment was, which helped me grow professionally. The most valuable part of the experience was seeing how policy ideas are shaped through both data and stakeholder input. I would definitely recommend this internship to future students because it provides hands-on experience at the intersection of education and workforce policy. It has also helped me see that I would pursue a career in public policy research and program evaluation.
