Internship Location: Madison WI
Organization Type: Nonprofit
Policy Areas: Health (undergraduate student health and wellness)
My internship experience at UW-Madison International Academic Programs was amazing and I learned a lot. Most of my work revolved around undergraduate student health, well-being, and safety. This included updating our Study Abroad Handbook with helpful pages for students to use. Additionally, I also analyzed student health data to formulate data models and data reports that allow my supervisors to better assist in supporting student’s health and safety abroad. My learning at La Follette definitely acted as a backbone of my work at IAP. I felt that I was better equipped to handle each task I was assigned at my internship because of my previous coursework. I think that my internship experience was really helpful in determining my future career goals and the ways that I want to be able to influence and help others through my work. I truly just want to make a difference in my life and with the work that I do and my experience at IAP helped make that a reality.
