My internship at Schreiber GR Group allowed me to immerse myself in the world of government relations and policy advocacy. The exposure to the intersection of business and government was especially valuable. Observing how businesses navigate through complex regulatory and legislative landscapes gave me a unique perspective on the practical applications of government relations. The skills and knowledge I acquired at La Follette were crucial during my internship. The PA 327 course and curriculum, such as the discussion modules, allowed me to engage with classmates about their experiences, let me appreciate the diversity of work in public policy, and put my experience into a broader context. Overall, the coursework provided by La Follette provided a strong foundation, enabling me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations effectively. One of the surprises was the dynamic nature of government relations. This was challenging and exciting, pushing me to adapt quickly and think strategically. I would highly recommend this internship to future students, particularly those interested in government relations and policy advocacy.
