A significant component of my public policy coursework that proved highly relevant to my internship experience was my lessons on evidence-based policy. Throughout this coursework, I honed my abilities to identify and analyze the most effective solutions to complex societal problems. Implementing strategies supported by concrete evidence taught me how to optimize outcomes while conserving valuable time and resources. When reading the data for the Early Intervention Program for my second paper, I could critically assess research methodologies, interpret data, and draw meaningful conclusions. I was also able to see what was lacking in the evidence. In my internship, I gained practical experience that complements the knowledge I learned within the classroom.
