Al Tahaluf Real Estate Company

Internship Location: Remote

Organization Type: For Profit

Policy Areas: Policy Analysis and Program Evaluation

Al Tahaluf Real Estate Company is a for-profit organization based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia that collaborates with the Ministry of Housing in Saudi Arabia. The organization’s overarching performance goal is to develop low-income housing for the general population. As an Organizational Analyst Intern, I was instructed to help rewrite Human Resources policies in an effort to increase employee satisfaction and productivity. Both individually and through team meetings, we undertook an in-depth analysis of the existing policies, and focused on improving policies and protections for the stakeholders. Our goals included well-being and equity for the employees. From my internship experience, I learned about the importance of assessing the implications of each decision and the challenges of meeting the needs of all stakeholders. Though I had very little experience in collaborating with human resources departments, I learned how to strengthen my information gathering skills as well as my presentation skills by applying relevant data analysis to visuals. I particularly improved my verbal and written communications skills by practicing presenting my findings to the team. The overall goal of improving employee satisfaction was achieved through implementing new policies pertaining to KPI’s, employee vehicles, increased opportunities for training and advanced career paths, improved facilities and fun themed work days. Overall, I very much enjoyed my internship, and felt great personal satisfaction in having the opportunity to improve the lives of the stakeholders who are doing the important work in creating low income housing for those in need.
