I worked remotely for the State of Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor, and I visited the office in St. Paul a few times during the summer. I spent most of my summer working on one specific project from start to finish that allowed me to practice many of the skills I have learned at La Follette. I conducted interviews, worked on quantitative and qualitative data analyses, and completed a memorandum for policymakers regarding my specific project. I really enjoyed the chance to do a “deep dive” on a specific area of policy and using my education from La Follette to inform my work every day. I think this experience has given me a new perspective on state government and has really helped me determine what I’d like to accomplish in my career after graduation.
