Wausau Town Hall | Wisconsin Main Street Agenda
November 1, 2022 — 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

What should candidates for office be talking about as they compete for your vote this fall? The La Follette School has partnered with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Ideas Lab and Wisconsin Public Radio to host several public forums where we invite people from all parts of the state to join conversations about the issues that concern them.
The Wausau town hall will begin with a moderated panel including David Haynes of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and three La Follette School faculty members: Jon Pevehouse, whose research focuses on inflation and the economy; Tim Smeeding, who studies poverty and social policy; and Jason Fletcher, who researches health policy and socioeconomic disparities.
Next, a citizen panel will discuss issues that are most important to them. Each panel will be followed by an audience Q&A session.
The town halls are part of the Wisconsin Main Street Agenda project, which will focus news coverage on public policy issues in the months leading up to the November elections. We encourage you to take a few minutes now to fill out the Wisconsin Main Street Agenda questionnaire. Please join us to hear what we’ve learned so far from the poll and to share what you want to know more about from candidates for office.
The event is co-sponsored by the La Follette School, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin Public Radio, and the Milwaukee Public Library. A generous gift from David and Madeleine Lubar has made these town halls possible.
