Tony Carroll – Peace Corps Week
March 2 — 2:00 pm
Peace Corps service often becomes part of our definition of who we are. The host country nationals we meet become friends and family. Tony Carroll, member of the UW-Madison International Division Advisory Board, will talk about how his connections to Botswana remain strong today, and reflect on his successes along the way. You can attend in person or via Zoom.
Tony is an alumnus of the La Follette School who received his degree in 1980. Between 1984 and 1986, Carroll served as senior counsel for corporate financial development to a Denver-based international venture capital and financial promotion organization. Carroll served as assistant general counsel of the Peace Corps from 1986 to 1989, and was senior legal adviser to the director of the Peace Corps with special emphasis on global health and Africa programming. From 1989 to 1995, Carroll worked as an international business attorney and consultant with Washington office of Mitchell, Friedlander and Gittleman and its successor law firms. He also has served as a long-term advisor to the World Bank and other organizations on commercial legal reform in Africa and the establishment of special economic zones in Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He was also a senior consultant to Neill and Company, the largest registered lobbying firm in Washington.
All La Follette School students, faculty, alumni, and staff are invited to attend.
