October 12, 2022 — 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm

Stephanie Didwania is an assistant professor in the UW–Madison Law School. She is a quantitative empirical scholar who studies the criminal legal system. Didwania is primarily interested in understanding how prosecutors exercise discretion in criminal cases and in pretrial detention. In addition to studying the criminal system, Didwania has also written on the economics of intellectual property and innovation in the music industry. Her talk is titled “The Mass Prosecution of White-Collar Crime.”
The La Follette School Seminar Series engages participants in discussion of a range of public policy issues and showcases the research of faculty from the La Follette School, other UW–Madison departments, and outside the UW–Madison community. Faculty, students, and visitors take part in lively dialogue about topics such as poverty and welfare, health, education, international affairs, trade and finance, and the environment.
