About the program
Internships are located in 38 counties across the state with 18 different state agencies. There are over 200 in-person, remote, and hybrid work opportunities, including over 40 completely remote positions. There is also an affordable, short-term housing option available with UW-Madison in downtown Madison for the duration of the summer internship. Interested candidates can request more information on housing in their application.
The Wisconsin Student Diversity Internship Program (SWSDIP) offers opportunities for students across the state in various agencies and career areas. This internship program specifically targets students across culturally diverse groups with various lived experiences, representing the global spectrum of ethnicity, gender and ability. The goal of the program is to provide those students with an opportunity to experience the professional work environment of Wisconsin State Government. The program provides students with a paid internship and valuable work experience and training in various branches of state government.
Please note:
- Domestic students graduating in May are still eligible for summer internships
- International students who do not require sponsorship during the internship are eligible to apply
