Alum Lamon Smith will discuss his career, including his new role as The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin’s Milwaukee Program Manager, and answer students’ questions.

Lamont Smith (MPA ’07) recently joined The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin as Milwaukee Program Manager, a new position. He previously worked as a senior analyst with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, where he conducted policy research and contributed to local planning efforts to increase the impact of community-based programs and advocacy efforts that support neighborhoods and families, and strengthen water sustainability and access to water industry careers.

Lamont’s professional interests include identifying and applying emergent approaches, practices, technical tools, and methods to create better social and economic experiences for people and communities seeking equity. He has expertise in budgeting, public finance, program design, implementation and evaluation, grant program compliance and data and policy analysis.

About the event

This event is for current La Follette School students only. Students will receive an email with details on how to register.

After a short discussion about his career, Lamont will answer questions from students during a 30-minute Q&A session. Please submit questions in advance via the registration form on the email message. Cartecia Lawrence, a student in the La Follette School’s MPA program, will moderate the discussion.
