Catalyzing the Advancement of DEI in Higher Education | Elevating Equity in Policymaking

This event has passed.

Ingraham Hall, room 120
@ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm

Lori Kido Lopez and DeVon Wilson, co-chairs of the College of Letters and Science Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, will share DEI best practices with La Follette School students, faculty, and staff.

To create an inclusive learning environment where all feel welcomed, DEI initiatives must be established across the entire campus community, in all departments and at all levels. The L&S Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC) at UW-Madison engages in a variety of work to better understand and improve the experiences of our diverse campus community. As the La Follette School continues its strategic planning sessions aimed at developing DEI goals and recommendations, we have much to learn from leaders of the L&S DEIC about best DEI practices that endure over time.

Please join us for a conversation with DeVon Wilson, Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, College of Letters & Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Dr. Lori Kido Lopez, Director, Asian American Studies Program and Professor, Communication Arts, University of Wisconsin-Madison to discuss the progress of DEI initiatives with the College of Letters and Science at UW-Madison and important takeaways that can inform the recommendations that we implement at La Follette!

The panel will be hosted by La Follette School Student Association members Liliana Keomanivong Teniente and Gabriel Terrell.
