The (LAO) has provided nonpartisan fiscal and policy advice to the California Legislature since 1941. The LAO (1) assists the Legislature in all aspects of the budget process, through its analytical and oversight activities; (2) responds to legislative requests for information and analysis of the state’s budget and programs; and (3) conducts independent studies and produces self-generated reports on topics of importance to the state. Chas Alamo, MPP, a fiscal and policy analyst at the LAO will share how his work influences the policy making process and impacts the lives of Californians. Sarah Barkman, the administrative and recruitment coordinator will share information on their open positions and share some tips for being a strong applicant.
