College Club Program Evaluation

Achievement gaps in educational attainment and college attendance across racial, ethnic, and socio-economic groups are well documented across the country and in the state of Wisconsin. In response, the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County developed the College Club to support students in elementary and middle school and to prepare them for high school success and beyond. To measure programmatic impacts, the authors developed an evaluation plan designed to explore whether participation in the College Club program improves academic performance, increases successful entrance into a high school college preparatory program, and improves college readiness when compared to students with comparable demographics who have not participated in the program.
