AARP Wisconsin commissioned a team of students led by La Follette School Associate Professor J. Michael Collins to estimate the costs to states from seniors who retire without adequate savings. The nonprofit, nonpartisan organization conducted similar studies in Utah and New Jersey, and the Wisconsin study built on those reports.
