News: Offner Lecture

Health economist Katherine Baicker will give the 2017 Paul Offner Lecture on Tuesday, November 28 at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon Street. Her presentation, The Effect of Medicaid Spending, Health, and Well-Being: Evidence and Implications for Reform, begins at 4:30 p.m.

Distinguished scholars Ron Haskins, Isabel Sawhill, and C. Eugene Steuerle (MA ’72, MS ’73, PhD ‘75) will discuss Improving Opportunities for Children during the 2016 Paul Offner Lecture on Thursday, November 3.

Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson will receive an honorary degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison this May. The La Follette School of Public Affairs and the Department of Political Science nominated Thompson, who received bachelor’s and law degrees from UW–Madison in the 1960s.
