The Wisconsin District Attorneys Association presented a plaque to La Follette School student Scott Wood April 10 to recognize his contributions to the interests of justice and public safety in Wisconsin.

The generalist in Emma Schumann drew her to the La Follette School and its Master of Public Affairs degree, as did advice from a couple of alumni and a faculty members.

2011 alum Jonny Hunter received the Forward under 40 award from the Wisconsin Alumni Association for his innovative Underground Food Collective and work in food policy.

Second-year student Scott Wood presented his analysis of Wisconsin assistant district attorney staffing to the executive board of the Wisconsin District Attorneys Association and Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel, who attended the February board meeting.

La Follette School students got a firsthand view of how two nonpartisan legislative service agencies function when they visited the Legislative Fiscal Bureau and the Legislative Audit Bureau on February 6.

An award-winning article by 2012 alum Alex Marach has been published in Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board.

More than 60 alumni and friends plan to attend the La Follette School's Madison reception on Thursday, February 5, at Inn on the Park's Top of the Park, 22 South Carroll St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Research on health insurance costs conducted in part by a La Follette School alum looks at how Wisconsin State Employee Health Plan controls the rapid rise of health insurance costs in Dane County compared to Wisconsin's other counties.
