More than two dozen La Follette School faculty members and faculty affiliates gathered at the Pyle Center on September 29 for introductions and conversation. During the two-hour reception, Director Don Moynihan welcomed five new affiliates and three new faculty members.
Three of the School’s newest affiliates – Deborah Enrenthal (School of Medicine and Public Health) Claudia Persico (Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis), and Mike Wagner (School of Journalism and Mass Communication) – attended the gathering. Nicholas Hillman (Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis) and Nils Ringe (Department of Political Science) also recently became La Follette School affiliates.
“Our world-class faculty provide the foundation for our School’s excellence, and we are honored to have nearly 60 colleagues from across campus as faculty affiliates,” Moynihan says. “All of these researchers and teachers have spent the greater part of their careers on public policy and governance issues and are committed to public service.”
The School’s three newest faculty members include alumna Yang Wang, who received her master’s degree in public affairs from La Follette in 2003. Assistant Professor Emilia Tjernstrom joined the faculty in August 2015, and Assistant Professor Rourke O’Brien came in January 2016.
