Journalist with The Economist to be writer in residence

The La Follette School's fall writer in residence will be Riva Froymovich, who manages the content of North America events developed by The Economist.

She will be in Madison the week of November 17. She will speak at the La Follette School's Policy and a Pint on Tuesday, November 19, from 5:30-7:30 at Brocach, 7 West Main Street.

Froymovich is the author of End of The Good Life: How the Financial Crisis Threatens a Lost Generation - and What We Can Do About It (Harper Perennial), which chronicles the impact of the latest financial crisis on Generation Y and promotes innovative reforms in education, employment and public policy.

She has reported in print and on camera for The Wall Street Journal and the Dow Jones Newswires, among other outlets. She has covered the euro-zone in the throes of economic collapse, the U.S. dollar's historic decline during the Great Recession, the rapid rise of emerging economies, central banks as they faced their biggest challenge since the Depression, and politicians' attempt to cobble together financial regulation.
