Amber Edwards

Gaining a better understanding of the role census data play in the allocation of federal grants to states is part of Amber Edwards' job as an analyst for the U.S. Government Accountability Office in Washington, D.C. As a member of GAO's Strategic Issues Team, Edwards also explores how the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is addressing barriers to equal employment opportunities. Since joining GAO after her 2005 graduation from La Follette with a Master of Public Affairs, Edwards has worked on crime victims' rights, web site development, highway funding, responses to pandemic influenza, and the protection of Social Security numbers. While at La Follette, Amber was a fellow and a project assistant. During her summer 2004 internship with GAO, she examined relationships between food served in schools and childhood obesity.
